All incoming freshmen are required to submit a completed physical examination form to Hunterdon Central's Health Offices by September 30, 2010. The physical examination form can be downloaded and printed from the Health Services Department Webpage. Please click on the link "Forms."

Welcome to the Hunterdon Central family!

We know this is an exciting time, and a big transition for both students and parents. We would like to help make your progress through your four years at Hunterdon Central as smooth and successful as possible.

To help in that process, we have planned orientation activities for incoming freshman students, as well as for incoming freshmen parents/guardians. These events are scheduled for Wednesday, September 1, 2010. We hope these orientation programs will answer questions you have about your high school, and make you feel like part of our family.

FOR STUDENTS:

Orientation: September 1, from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM – Auditorium (Fountain Entrance)

All incoming freshmen are invited to a Freshmen Orientation on Wednesday, September 1st, from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM. This special morning session has been planned to help students become comfortable with the high school, as well as to take care of some “new student business”. Please note this orientation is for incoming freshmen students only. Students who cannot attend this program will receive their schedule in the mail. Their photo ID and locker assignment will be handled by the Freshman House Office during the first week of school.

Parents/ Guardians will need to provide transportation for their children to Hunterdon Central. To alleviate congestion when dropping students off, we encourage parents to arrange for carpooling. All students should be dropped off at the upper campus (fountain) entrance between 8:05 and 8:20 a.m. Upon arrival students should report directly to the assigned “Alpha Homeroom” Click to view Orientation Room Assignments. Parents/guardians should pick up their children, at the same location, at 12:30 PM.

Freshman orientation will include:

• Short presentations by selected staff members
• Taking of I.D. photos—students individual pictures
• Distribution of academic schedules and important forms
• The opportunity to walk through the student schedule to see where classes are located
• Locker assignments—students will need to bring $5.00 in cash, or a check made payable to HCRHS to purchase a lock for their assigned hall locker
• Orientation activities and the opportunity to meet staff and fellow classmates

Please note that students will have an opportunity to purchase snacks during the program.

FOR PARENTS/GUARDIANS:

September 1, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM – Auditorium (Fountain Entrance)

Parents/Guardians of incoming freshmen are invited to attend an information session from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 1st in Hunterdon Central's Auditorium. Parents/guardians will have the opportunity to meet members of the Administrative Team, learn about the high school and have questions answered. Please note that the evening information session is for parents/guardians, not for students.
