Notice to ETTC Workshop Participants
Continuing Education Units (CEU) & Professional
Development Credits (100 Hrs): If you wish to earn CEU's or 100 hour
credit for an ETTC workshop, you must be present and participate actively
in all the scheduled sessions. ETTC instructors may, when extenuating
circumstances warrant, make application to the ETTC Coordinator for
exceptions to this rule. At the Coordinator's discretion, the certificate
and any credit will be withheld for any absence or lack of an appropriate
level of participation.
Recognition of Programs for CEU's and Pro Dev Hours:
The ETTC is a Registered Provider (#226) with the
State DOE. It's important to remember, however, that your home district
has the final say when giving recognition for work done for CEU's and
towards satisfying the100 hour PD program. While the ETTC will provide
a certificate of your participation, how your school district responds
to it is strictly a function of local contractual agreements.
Cancellations:
The ETTC reserves the right to cancel workshops
when registrations fall below the minimums needed to support the event.
Should a cancellation occur, regardless of cause, registered participants
will be notified by telephone and/or electronic mail. Additional notification
will be made via the Hunterdon ETTC web site.
Weather and Emergency Related
Changes:
All ETTC classes will be canceled in the event
that the building is closed. Participants will be notified by their
instructor regarding rescheduling.

What is the ETTC
The Hunterdon County Educational Technology Training
Center (ETTC) is a unique and practical training program designed to
meet the changing roles of and increased demands on K-12 teachers for
the 21st century. Each course is flexible so that the experience level
and specific needs of each participant are accommodated. Courses are
developed and taught by "front-line" professionals who utilize
the applications and strategies regularly in their work. In addition
to a variety of course offerings, the ETTC can provide specially designed
training, technical assistance and support for each school district
in Hunterdon County.
Who Should Participate?
The focus of the ETTC training program is for K-12
classroom teachers, however, all of the computer basics, word-processing/databasing,
multimedia and special interest offerings are appropriate for anyone
with an interest and access to the specific software. The variety of
Internet courses, including those designed for teachers, will relate
the "information highway" to its widespread application in
our lives.

How and Why was the ETTC Developed?
In a concerted effort to prepare New Jersey teachers
for the 21st century classroom, the state of New Jersey established
a competitive grant program and Educational Technology Training Centers
in each of the state's 21 counties. County ETTC coordinators form a
core of experts to ensure that teachers from the northern-most to the
southern-most ends of the state are provided with training programs
and activities which will ultimately allow every student in the state
equal access to technology, distance learning, and preparation for achieving
New Jersey's Core Curriculum Content Standards. Ultimately,
the entire state of New Jersey will have access to these distance learning
educational opportunities.

Background and Future
The national focus on school reform has been modeled
at Hunterdon Central Regional High School. The cornerstone to that reform
is the commitment to staff development and training supported by the
Hunterdon Central Academy for Continual Development. The Academy began
in the spring of 1995 with one course, Cooperative Learning, team-taught
by two Hunterdon Central teachers. That concept grew in two years to
100 course offerings.
Building upon the success of the Hunterdon Central
Academy for Continual Development, the opportunities afforded through
the Hunterdon County Educational Technology Training center have provided
increased educational reform activities throughout Hunterdon County
and the state, based on well-trained teachers prepared to meet the challenges
of education in the 21st century. The future of the Hunterdon County
ETTC is telecommunications. Just as classroom activities have been shared
via telecommunications, lifelong learning activities will become the
norm using telecommunications to extend the capabilities of the ETTC.
