Just like bookmarks save your place in a book, social bookmarking sites allow you to save your place on the internet. But they go further than that...you can organize, tag, and share the internet like it's your own! Also, unlike the bookmarks (or favorites) you have now in your browser, social bookmarking sites can be accessed from any computer and shared with others.This page focuses on using Diigo and Del.icio.us; however, there are many other free social bookmarking sites out there.
